DeFi: A Transparent Decentralised Finance Movement

25 Aug 2020 — As part of my “Setting the Record Straight” series of posts on LinkedIn, today’s topic will be focussing on DeFi.

Well in short, DeFi is a transparent decentralised finance movement that aims to recreate traditional financial systems (such as lending, borrowing, derivatives, and exchange) with automation in place of middlemen, that ultimately becoming a trustless system.

Incidentally, the Indonesia Blockchain Week (IBW) 2020’s theme for this year, is ‘decentralized finance’ #DeFi and the opening ceremony was hosted completely online on 18 Aug, with more than 2500 Indonesians and people from all over the world tuning in. Seen in attendance included, Tokocrypto CEO Pang Xue Kai, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), Swipe CEO Joselito Lizarondo and TRON Foundation CEO Justin Sun.
