Today marks the first day of COVID-19 circuit breaker in Singapore
7 April 2020 — Today marks the first day of COVID-19 circuit breaker in Singapore. It will be a very difficult period as business that cannot be conducted through telecommuting will be suspended. Fortunately, my CEO had already prepared us to work from home since Feb. It’s amazing for the team to seamlessly switch to working from home even long before the enforced social isolation. In fact, we were more efficient and could focus better without worrying about catching the bug. Although working from home ensured the safety of the team, more importantly, this was a responsible effort to social distance ourselves and reduce the spread of the virus.
Our world is at a critical juncture in its fight against COVID-19. Let us take a moment to recognise and appreciate our frontline heroes who are helping battle this worldwide pandemic. In times like this, let’s all be responsible not just to our loved ones, but to one another. To our customers, investors, partners and suppliers, let’s remain vigilant and do our part to prevent further community spread as we remember the words of LaoZi “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the one step”. However difficult the Covid-19 battle is, the circuit breaker can only succeed if we all do. – by Ian Fong
