Finder has just released its latest results on cryptocurrency adoption index, which measures the growth of cryptocurrencies across the world through a regular survey of 41,645 individuals in 22 countries.
Summary of global cryptocurrency trends for October 2021
– A little over 1 in 10 (11.4%) adults own crypto globally
– Nigeria at 24.2%, Malaysia at 18% and Australia at 17.7% have the highest rates of cryptocurrency ownership among internet users.
– Singapore at 15.6% ranks in 6th place and the US at 10.4% ranks in 10th place, while Japan has the lowest adoption, at 4.6%
– Globally, men are 1.4 times more likely to own cryptocurrency than women
Among those that own crypto, @Bitcoin has the highest adoption in Japan with 76.7% of adults who own crypto saying they own Bitcoin. This is 1.3 times the global average adoption rate of 58.9%.
Ethereum sees its highest adoption with crypto owners in Singapore with 52.4% of adults who own crypto saying they own Ethereum. This is 1.9 times the global average adoption rate of 27.4%.
Cardano sees its peak in adoption in Australia, where 26.3% of the online population who own crypto say they have Cardano, which is 1.4 times the global average adoption rate of 18.5%.
