Navigating the Road to Excellence Propine's Inspirational Journey
When Propine was conceived in 2018, when the term “regulation” was an anathema to the crypto industry. But in Propine, we were very sure that we wanted to create a regulated, institutionally robust digital asset custody service that will underpin all the rest of the financial world. Thus, in 2018, the founders took the lead in initiating a dialogue with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and co-created a bespoke Sandbox, where to safely experiment. Propine was then granted a conditional license in November 2019.
We discussed in depth how to interpret securities & futures act in the context of digital assets and helped to create the regulatory framework that exists in Singapore today. This framework has served as a guiding torch to many other jurisdictions around the world. Over a year later, the company successfully exited from the Sandbox in Jan 2021 with a Capital Market Services license to custody digital assets.

Meet our Team
Tuhina is the founder and CEO of Propine, Singapore's only licensed digital asset custody solution. Through Propine, Tuhina is helping financial institutions invest in digital assets within a regulated and safe environment. She's a thought-leader, keynote speaker and regularly advises financial institutions about navigating the Metaverse and leveraging the Web 3 opportunity. She was recently awarded the Fintech Leader award by SFF. Prior to Propine, she traded equity, forex and fixed income derivatives for financial institutions. In her last banking stint, she set up the derivates trading desk for a private bank in India from scratch. Tuhina holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineeringfrom BITS, Pilani and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
The Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Propine, Zan has over 20 years of experience in building scalable enterprise software solutions with high performing teams. With a wealth of experience in both startups and enterprises, Zan is well-versed in scaling teams from startups to enterprises. The previous two startups where Zan led his respective teams had extremely successful exits with Urban Fox being acquired by Keppel T&T whilst Dropsuite was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. He holds an electrical engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.
Suresh is Chief Operating Officer of Propine with extensive asset servicing experience in the financial services industry. During his tenure at State Street Corporation, Suresh held executive positions in Operations, Information Technology, Product, Project and Program Management, and Governance. He has led and has been involved in the development and implementation of complex market and product expansion strategies across both APAC and Europe. Suresh has Master of Business Administration (International Business) from the University of New England and a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology from the University of Southern Queensland and is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Sanjay Menon is Chief Information Security Officer of Propine and responsible for the company’s initiatives in DevSecOps, Threat Detection and Response along with Audit and Compliance. Sanjay comes with more than two decades of experience in information security and has held senior roles across multiple Information Security and Technology Risk domains in organisations like Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan, State Street, Mercedez-Benz and Symantec. Sanjay holds a Masters degree in information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London and is a qualified CISSP.
Taniya Singh is VP, Marketing at Propine. She has a wealth of global experience in helping companies develop and implement the most effective growth marketing strategies and tactics. She advices startups in customer acquisition strategies, martech planning and investments. Over the last 16 years, she has held various roles spanning growth, product and business development in large multinationals and startups including Philips, Abbott, L'Oréal and PMI. She holds an MBA from HEC, Paris and baccalaureate in Economics from Delhi University.
